Hi, I'm Robyn.
I have been writing, photographing and videoing recipes since 2018 on my blog Mrs Jones's Kitchen (mrsjoneskitchen.com), and creating recipes and photographing them for clients all around the world.
When my son was diagnosed with coeliac disease we decided that our whole family would go gluten-free. Primarily I wanted our kitchen to be a safe place for my son; for him to be able to choose anything in the fridge or cupboards and know it was safe for him to eat, and for there to be no risk of cross contamination, which is a constant worry. Besides, the prospect of cooking both a gluten-free meal and a gluten-containing meal would make meal times even more complicated and time consuming than it already is!
I have created Pepper and Thyme to provide my son a safe fully gluten-free recipe space for when he's ready to cook for himself and, until that time, to be a place where he can confidently search for a recipe for us to cook together. It will be his dedicated place of tried and tested gluten-free recipes that we all enjoy. As a parent it has already become my source of go-to recipes - whether that be waffles for breakfast, something for my son's school lunchbox, baking cookies for a playdate, or to help me get dinner on the table.
Having to be strictly gluten-free is tough, I know this because we are living it. I hope Pepper and Thyme can help ease others pressure, showcase all that can be eaten rather than what can't, and through this show that gluten-free food isn't boring, beige or unhealthy as many would have us believe, but vibrant, healthy and enjoyable by all!
I always love hearing from you, please reach out if you have any questions, or struggles with gluten-free cooking, and I will try my best to help!
Robyn x
